Bread and Butter products give men confidence and peace of mind

Men's skin is different from women's largely because men shave. Hence, many men have less layers of skin and minute cuts that open the door to irritation. That’s why all of our face products are carefully designed to minimize the use of irritating ingredients, and be very effective. In fact we omit irritating ingredients such as perfumes and grain alcohols which are found in common brands. The result is formulas that keep your skin healthy and simplify your life.

irritants not found in our products
- Camphor
- Eucalyptus
- Fragrance
- Grain Alcohols

Bread and Butter products save men time for more ambitious things

Let's be honest, for the majority of guys, skincare tends to be an afterthought.  A guy never chooses to neglect his skin but he’s unlikely to spend a ton of time researching the best products and finding them at department stores.  At Bread & Butter, we get that. That's why we keep our products simple and effective.  And it's another reason why we think guys will love The Kit.  By using The Kit, guys can rest assured their skin is taken care of, then focus on something more important like that business they want to start, that book he wants to write, or that mountain he wants to climb, you get the drift (guys can feel free to focus on video games and TV, we just prefer they be a bit more ambitious...).

Bread and Butter cares about quality and environment

By having our scientists and manufacturers nearby, we are able to constantly visit their facilities to ensure that we meet and push the envelope on our quality and recyclability standards. It is common for us to be inspecting products as they are made, and following the recycling stream of our products.

Our Philosophy-Take a stand against industry practices

We let the product speak for itself.  You won't see Bread & Butter spending millions on ridiculous claims and advertisements.  We market to educate you about our products and the real benefits that guys can achieve through them. No more, no less. If you are interested in learning more, visit our Facebook page here.

How we recycle

Setting a Higher Bar for Helping the Environment. It is a little known fact that all plastic tubes used for soaps and moisturizers are not recycled in municipal North American recycling facilities.

That is why Bread and Butter has created our Cradle-to-Cradle program (available only in Toronto…for now). In this program, all customers who buy The Kit can email or call our customer service team to have their used packaging picked up by us, and then we will send it to the proper recycling facilities.

How we reduce

We have taken many steps and will continue to reduce the amount of materials and energy that we require. Here are a few examples:

- We have eliminated the use of over 20,000 labels on our tubes. Our designs are only printed directly onto our tubes.

- We have eliminated over 20,000 thousand boxes and sheets of cellophane that are typically used to individually package our tubes.

- The cylindrical shape of our shipping box is more efficient than traditional boxes, and reduces energy required for transportation by 16%.

- The shipping box does not include any virgin materials. It is made of 100% recycled materials.

What else Bread and Butter is doing

To address of the non-recyclability of the plastic tubes in the industry, we are attempting to reduce the usage of these tubes by over 50%.

Founder | Brian Lau

Brian started his career as a consultant, where he got his introduction into luxury goods while working for a client that designed stores for retailers such as Saks and Bath and Body Works. After two years, Brian moved to Unilever, finishing his time there in New York City where he was a marketer for the global operations of the Dove brand. After Dove, he proceeded to become a General Manager for a custom product designer and manufacturer for brands such as Aveda, Burt’s Bees, and John Paul Mitchell. The idea for Bread&Butter evolved over these years, and was launched in 2009.
